Week 6
This week I was able to learn quite a bit about how we should set up entrepreneurial rules so that we are not over taken by our start ups.
I found myself reflecting on two talks from class this week that really stuck with me. One was by President N. Eldon Tanner called "Success is Gauged by Self-Mastery". President Tanner talks about self-mastery and the importance of self discipline, moral standards are essential for anyone trying to achieve their goals. The idea that trye success is rooted in our ability to control our impulses and stay true to our values is a reminder that personal integrity is important in all aspects of life. He quotes philosophers like Plato and da Vinci, mastering ones self is the first step toward mastering any external challenges. This week I have been trying to apply this principle by setting clear goals for myself, whether in my studies or in my personal success. Staying committed to them despite any distractions.
And the other talk was given by Wences Casares called "Three Lessons about what it means to be and Entrepreneur". Wences talks about being an entrepreneur and it brought a different perspective for him on commitment. He emphasized that entrepreneurship is not just a choice it is a intrinsic part of who you are. This really stuck with me especially as I considered my future plans. Wences talked about valuing time and making long term investments in out passions. This week I started to think more about how I wanted to invest more of my time in the coming years. Wences talks about how sticking with something over a long period often leads to greater success, this made me realize the importance of perseverance and dedication rather than jumping from one opportunity to the next.
Both talks emphasize the importance of discipline, commitment, and the long-term vision necessary for success. As I look ahead i am excited to learn more about how I can blend these lessons in my self mastery and entrepreneurial spirit. I want to explore ways to become more self discipline in my life, particularly in managing my time and my commitments. I also look forward to deepen my understanding of what it means to pursue a long term vision in my own career and how to have the qualities that make me more resilient and effective. Overall this weeks study's have inspired me to commit to my goals and recognize the value of both self control and dedication as I move forward on my entrepreneurial journey.
