Week 1
This semester I am lucky enough to take an entrepreneurial class to help me learn and grow in new ways. This week my teacher shared some readings and videos that I looked over and this is what I learned.
One reading that stood out to me was Living Life as an Entrepreneurial Hero by Jeff Sandefer. Jeff talked about "Dreaming Big, Starting Small" The idea of dreaming big while taking small steps was eye-opening. I often felt overwhelmed by my goals but breaking them into manageable tasks allowed me to make progress on a personal project without feeling paralyzed. This is a very important for me to realis how obtainable my goals are when I look at the small steps that will help to achieve my goal. Overall, Sandefer’s insights inspired me to rethink challenges, build supportive relationships, and focus on my personal growth. Living as an entrepreneurial hero is about embracing the journey and learning from experiences. I'm excited to continue this path, knowing every small step brings me closer to my goals.
I also read the BYU-Idaho Hinckley building dedication President Gordon B. Hinckley's address. Gordon B. Hinckley emphasizes the value of integrity, faith, and hard work among young people. He expresses deep love and admiration for their potential, stating that they are the best generation the church has ever had. He encourages them to avoid negative behaviors and remain beacons of virtue in a challenging world. Hinckley stresses the importance of education both of the mind and spirit and urges the youth to recognize their divine potential and stay true to their values.
Both of these readings have opened my mind to new ways of learning and preparing myself for what is to come in this class. I am looking forward to learning more about how to take control over my life goals and what steps I should take in the entrepreneurial world.
